About Candace Knoebel

Growing up alongside the Harry Potter series, Candace found herself missing the epicosity of a story that pulls you in and won’t let you go. In 2009, she began dreaming up characters that would mold her first novel. Through lunch breaks and late nights, after putting her kids to bed, she built a world where she could escape the ever-pressing days of an eight to five Purgatory. She found her calling in life and knew this was more than dancing could’ve ever meant to her. Once complete in 2010, she began the grueling process of finding a publisher. With relentless determination, she was finally able to realize her dream in December of 2011 when 48fourteen offered her a publishing contract. With a HUGE yes and a happy dance, she now continues her Trilogy.

From the Embers Chapter 1 & 2

Here’s a first look at From the Embers! Enjoy! ? Candace K. Prologue “This just in,” a woman’s steely voice said. She paused, her eyes skimming over the monitor, taking in the words that were displayed on the screen before she had to deliver them to the thousands that tuned in. Her eyes came to a hasty halt and she stiffened in her seat. She looked off to the left, stealing a breath. “I can’t believe it,” she mumbled to herself, her lips quivering. Her heart threatened to leap out of her chest. She looked back up at the camera with a strained smile, her face paling as she tried […]

Hello once again Readers!! How was your night? Mine was full of tossing and turning…in a good way though. I was so pumped full of excitement and hope. The next thing on my agenda as a newly published author (eek!) is to post an excerpt from my novel, Born in Flames. I chose to go with the second chapter since the first is already available for viewing as a sample. Hope you enjoy! Excerpt from Chapter 2 We took the local bus to […]

Born in Flames Book Trailer ?

Hello once again Readers!!! It’s been so long since I’ve blogged. I’ve been nose-deep in my edits and this book trailer! But I have good news!! I can finally say I’ve gotten one out of the two finished (as I’m sure you’ve guessed by now). I can’t tell you how excited I am to have finished this book trailer. It feels like it took me forever, so I hope you enjoy it. I couldn’t have finished it, if it wasn’t for Phillip. He created the epic music for me. He rocks! Check out his site: He’s a great guy and a blog worth following!!! Thanks Phillip! Now for the […]

? A love of music ?

Hello Readers!!! Long time no see right? Sorry…I have a million different things I’ve been trying to accomplish all at the same time lately. Okay, so maybe not a million, but a few too many for sure. And most of the time I can’t even decide which project I should start first, so instead I end up staring off into space rather than being productive. Silly, right? I digress. So recently I’ve been asked what exactly “Echelon Out” means-the little thing I always use as my outro for every blog. Of course some things are better left unanswered, but in this case it’s a perfect opportunity for me to explain […]

Caught in the Writer’s Block’s web

Hello once again Readers!!! I’ve crawled out from under my rock just so I could write a quick blog about my progress. I’m about 18 chapters deep into my second novel and a little over halfway done. Woohoo! I’m still working on a title for it though. Juggling (and not in the literal sense) has become a trade that I’m quite good at-which brings me to the topic I wanted to blog about… Writer’s Block Ugh. Those two words have the power to make me cringe as if I were watching a spider skitter along the floor in front of me. It’s as real and just as deadly as a […]

Finding inspiration when your Muse takes a vacation…

Hello once again fellow readers!!!! So for those of you that don’t know, I’m a sucker for inspiring quotes. Especially quotes that pertain to bettering yourself. I have a hoard of them taped in various places on my desk…things that make me smile when the flames are roaring high in Purgatory. And I don’t know why, but somehow total strangers seem to have the ability to sum up exactly what I’m feeling or longing for in two sentences or less. This ability to sit back and observe outside the box is one I try to live by day after day. I digress–so I wanted to share a quote with you […]

The making of an Author…?

Hello! *Scary thought* This is my first official blog. My first tell-all. My first time relating my life for anyone to see. So where to begin. Like any great story there has to be a beginning to get to the end. My beginning started in ’09 right after finishing the Twilight Saga. I found myself wandering aimlessly around my living room-literally, in circles, trying to think of what to do with myself. And somehow amongst the clutter of baby toys and the never-ending pile of laundry, I found myself in front of my computer. Kind of like tonight. A brand new idea waiting to be written out loud. And so […]
